Auvel is made by Sovelyn Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. This page says what we collect when you use Auvel, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Questions go to hello@auvel.app.
What we collect
- Your account. Your email address and a password (stored hashed). If you sign in with Google, the email Google gives us.
- Your learning profile. The answers you give during onboarding (native language, goals, level) and the settings you choose.
- What you say and write. Your voice calls with Emma are recorded and transcribed. Your chat messages, the words you save, and your flashcard reviews are stored so the app can teach you over time.
- Usage. How many minutes you talk, when you practise, and technical logs (browser, errors) so we can keep the service working.
Why we use it
To run your lessons, remember what you have learned, correct your mistakes, and show your progress. We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.
Who processes it
- Supabase (Frankfurt, Germany) stores your account, transcripts, recordings and progress.
- OpenAI (United States) receives your speech and text to generate Emma's replies, transcripts and feedback. Our requests are sent with storage turned off, and OpenAI does not train on API data.
- Vercel hosts the app and keeps short-lived request logs.
- Resend sends account emails such as confirmation and password reset.
How long we keep it
As long as your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your profile, transcripts, recordings, words and cards within 30 days. Backups expire after that.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account. Email hello@auvel.app from the address on your account and we will do it. If you are in the UK or EU you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Cookies
Auvel uses only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. There are no tracking or advertising cookies.
Children
Auvel is for people aged 16 and over.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
