Auvel is made by Sovelyn Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. This page says what we collect when you use Auvel, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Questions go to support@auvel.app.
What we collect
- Your account. Your email address, and a password (stored hashed) if you set one on our old website. If you sign in with Google, the email Google gives us.
- Your learning profile. The answers you give during onboarding (native language, goals, level) and the settings you choose.
- What you say and write. Your voice calls with Emma are recorded and transcribed. Your chat messages, the words you save, and your flashcard reviews are stored so the app can teach you over time.
- Messages you send us. What you write to us in the app, the address you ask us to answer at, and which phone you wrote from.
- Usage. How many minutes you talk, when you practise, and technical logs (device, errors) so we can keep the service working.
Why we use it
To run your lessons, remember what you have learned, correct your mistakes, and show your progress. We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.
Who processes it
- Supabase (Frankfurt, Germany) stores your account, transcripts, recordings and progress.
- OpenAI (United States) receives your speech and text to generate Emma's replies, transcripts and feedback. Our requests are sent with storage turned off, and OpenAI does not train on API data.
- Vercel hosts our server and keeps short-lived request logs.
- Resend sends account emails such as sign-in codes.
How long we keep it
As long as your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your profile, transcripts, recordings, words and cards within 30 days. Backups expire after that.
Deleting your account
Email support@auvel.app from the address on your account and we will delete your profile, calls, recordings, words and cards. Backups expire within 30 days. How to ask.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data or ask us to correct it. Email support@auvel.app from the address on your account and we will do it. If you are in the UK or EU you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
On your phone
The app keeps only what it needs to keep you signed in. There are no tracking or advertising cookies.
Children
Auvel is for people aged 16 and over.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
